HAMILTON, ON (June 10, 2022) – Aeon Studio Group, Forge & Foster and TAS have teamed up to explore the opportunity to develop the Bayfront Studio District, a mixed use film and creative arts district, in Hamilton’s West Harbour, on the Barton Tiffany lands, currently owned by the City of Hamilton.
The parcels of land under consideration, subject to due diligence and negotiation with the City of Hamilton, total approximately 14 acres in Hamilton Centre, bounded by Queen Street North, Barton Street West, Tiffany Street and Stuart Street and the CN Rail lands to the north.
The Bayfront Studio District is a live-work-play hub for the creative industries. Anchored by film and television production studios, the district also features affordable studio and performance space for artists and makers; office space for creative sector companies, unions, and post-secondary institutions; retail & hospitality space; market and affordable housing; and a series of public spaces and pedestrian connections that form a continuous public realm experience in the area.
TAS would serve as the lead developer, with Aeon leading the planning and operation of the creative sector campus.
